Full course description

Participants will learn the mechanism of how infections are transmitted, the factors (of the agent, host, and environment) that can impact transmission, outcomes of transmission, and how to break the chain of transmission. Recognizing the opportunities to break the chain will reduce the spread of hospital acquired infections and decrease the likelihood of patients contracting an illness or disease in the hospital or clinic. The program is delivered in video format with a visual PowerPoint presentation and case scenarios. The program is approximately 45 minutes in duration. Participants must complete all assessments and videos within the course.
